New Art Birmingham 2007

March 15—18

In with the New

We are delighted to welcome you to the second NEW ART BIRMINGHAM. Over 100 artists are exhibiting across 21 specific and associated venues region wide making it the largest visual arts event to take place in the West Midlands. NAB has grown and in 2007 Birmingham will be offering the visitor a chance to see and buy exciting and vibrant contemporary art that has never before been seen under the same banner.

NEW ART BIRMINGHAM continues to be new and unique in its approach in creating connections with the contemporary art market. Building on the success of NAB 2005, it will showcase challenging and diverse work by regional, national and international artists, reaffirming Birmingham’s place on the contemporary art map. It supports new and emerging artists as well as established artists from throughout the UK. A series of especially curated shows and associated events will be held simultaneously at venues across the region for the first time.

The core of NAB is the ART MARKET, which will feature the work of over 60 artists from throughout the UK providing opportunities for audiences and collectors to meet artists and buy or commission work. NEW ART BIRMINGHAM is also a place to engage with and debate art market issues with seminars for artists and collectors taking place over two days. Artists and arts professionals will share their knowledge and expertise as they discuss the issues that face artists and the characteristics and dynamics of the market.

We are grateful to our main sponsors, Birmingham Business Link, Arts Council England West Midlands, Birmingham City Council Urban Fusion and to EQUAL and East Birmingham and North Solihull Regeneration Zone.
